Shalom Kids' Sack Lunch/Backpack Coordinator
The Shalom Kids’ Sack Lunch/Backpack Coordinator will manage KSL summer program (10 weeks). and school
breaks (4 weeks) and the Backpack program that runs monthly September-May. This position will provide
appropriate support and training to its volunteers. He or she will have a passion for community service and respect
for cultural diversities.
Primary Responsibilities:

Will work 10-15 hours a week as needed

Will oversee the Love INC distribution site on Mondays for KSL from 4:30-6:30 p.m. the 14 weeks of distribution

Work with packing teams at Love INC to get meals packed and ready to distribute

Oversee the making of menus

Oversee all shopping for both programs

Keep within the budget constraints

Log and turn in receipts to Executive Director

Oversee set up for packing meal
-
Conduct weekly inventory, order necessary supplies, and replenish supplies

Uphold Health Department requirements

Communicate program needs to the Executive Director

Run errands to pick up needed food or supplies

Participate in yearly Shalom House fundraiser

Misc. tasks as assigned
Job-Status: Non-Exempt, hourly (paid monthly) Employee
Reports to: Executive Director
Qualifications:
-
High School Graduate
-
A valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle
-
Dietary training and experience a plus

Requires a lot of physical activity. Standing for 2-3 hours and able to lift 25 pounds

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Computer literate with access regularly to a computer. Able to email, work with Word documents, Excel and online orders

Ability and willingness to build relationships with individuals and in the community

Ability to take direction, be a self-starter, a leader and/or a team member as circumstances or projects may require

Ability to set and keep professional boundaries

A love for serving others
Example task: Fall break KSL 500 kids are coming through. The menu includes five entrees, five snacks, five breakfasts, and five fruits/vegetables.
